Saka, APA elected councilor greets Muslims as Ramadan begins
Promise to reclaim his
stolen mandate
The newly elected
APA Councilor in ward 5, Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Gafar Saka
has extended his heartfelt greetings to all Muslims across his local
government, Ibadan Southwest LG and his political ward, Ward 5 and the entire
Oyo State citizens as they embark on the annual religious journey of the Holy
Month of Ramadan.
According to the
release, Hon. Gafar Saka’s salutations to the Muslim Community was contained in
a special statement in which he said, “On the eve of your sacred encounter with
Allah, I, as your newly elected Councilor and on behalf of my Party, the
African Peoples Alliance, would like to wish you a blessed and successful
Ramadan.”
Hon. Gafar Saka
continued, “As you observe this Holy Month of Ramadan, it is my hope that Allah
will answer your prayers, honor your sacrifices and grant your heart’s desires."
“I thank
you all for the trust, faith, patience and confidence you repose in me during
and after election. During the election, you came out and voted for me. I won
the election which was free, credible and fair. First in the history of Oyo
state. I am assuring you that I shall reclaim my mandate.
My party and my
lawyer have petitioned OYSIEC and other stakeholders who assisted in the
election. APA is a party of peace and
social justice. I believe in justice and nonviolence.”
“I will reclaim my mandate by Allah’s Will. It was
the mandate you all gave me to represent you at our ward level. My opponent,
Mr. Babatunde Somorin who gallantly lost to me was declared winner of the
mandate you gave me. I know you will call that electoral fraud.”
“I thank you all for all your supports and I shall
fulfill all the promises pronounced in my manifestoes during my campaign after
getting my mandate back.”
“I also thank the Conference of Nigeria Political
Parties (CNPP) under the distinguished Chairmanship of Alh. Yinka Olona (FNIE)
and Dcn. Samson Segun Olalere (FNIE) for their tremendous support and
assistance. My party (APA) do not regret being a member of your Association.”
“Also, the National Secretary of my Party, Alh.
Sifawa Samaila for his concern and words of encouragement.”
“It is my right. I worked and labored for it. It
is your sweat, you struggled to give me your mandate to represent you. You won’t
